Turnkey Bottled Water Project for DR Congo
Project Overview
Every successful production line begins with trust.,This project was completed for a customer from Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) who planned to establish a bottled water business serving the local market. The customer was introduced to TINGS through a local trading company that had confidence in our manufacturing capabilities and recommended us as a reliable partner.
After understanding the customer’s production goals, we proposed a complete turnkey solution consisting of a semi-automatic bottled water production line, a 5-gallon filling machine, and a production layout that could easily accommodate future expansion. During the early discussions, the customer also mentioned the possibility of producing juice beverages in the future, so we designed the project with sufficient flexibility for additional processing equipment.
From Online Communication to Factory Visit
In November 2025, after obtaining his Chinese visa, the customer traveled to our factory for an on-site inspection.
During the visit, he carefully examined our CNC machining center, equipment assembly workshop, testing area, and quality control process. Instead of simply looking at finished machines, he wanted to understand how every piece of equipment was manufactured and why TINGS places such importance on machining accuracy and component quality.
Seeing the manufacturing process firsthand gave him confidence in our products. Before leaving the factory, he placed the deposit for the project and confirmed that TINGS would become his equipment supplier.
More importantly, after gaining confidence in our engineering capabilities, he decided to expand the project by adding a complete juice mixing and processing system, allowing the factory to produce bottled drinking water, juice beverages, and 5-gallon bottled water on the same site.
Upgrading the Project Before Production Began
In December 2025, the customer visited our factory again.
This time, he had a different objective.
After seeing several fully automatic production lines operating inside our factory, he realized that although the original semi-automatic solution met his current budget, a higher level of automation would significantly reduce labor costs and improve production efficiency over the long term.
At that time, production of his equipment had already been scheduled.
Fortunately, manufacturing of several key machines—including the sleeve labeling machine and shrink wrapping machine—had not yet started.
After internal discussions with our engineering and production departments, we successfully adjusted the manufacturing schedule and redesigned the production line according to his new requirements.
The customer finally decided to upgrade several machines from semi-automatic to fully automatic while keeping the semi-automatic bottle blowing machine for the first stage of his investment. This approach allowed him to control his budget while leaving room for future expansion as production demand increased.
Honest Advice Creates Long-Term Trust
During the second factory visit, the customer noticed that the quotation included a 5-gallon filling machine but did not include a 5-gallon blow molding machine.
Initially, this caused some confusion because he assumed both machines were required.
Instead of simply recommending additional equipment, our engineers carefully explained the differences between PC (Polycarbonate) bottles and PET bottles.
For commercial 5-gallon drinking water production, reusable PC bottles are the industry standard. A single PC bottle can be cleaned, sanitized, refilled, and reused many times, dramatically reducing packaging costs over its service life.
PET bottles, on the other hand, are designed for single-use applications. Producing PET 5-gallon bottles would require an additional blow molding machine, higher operating costs, increased energy consumption, and equipment that would have a relatively low utilization rate for this project.
Considering the customer’s production capacity and business model, we recommended purchasing reusable PC bottles instead of investing in unnecessary blow molding equipment.
Although selling additional equipment would have increased the order value, we believed that providing the most practical and economical solution was more important than maximizing equipment sales.
After understanding the technical differences and long-term operating costs, the customer fully agreed with our recommendation and appreciated our commitment to finding the right solution rather than simply selling more machines.
Manufacturing, Testing and Shipment
After the Chinese New Year holiday in 2026, production and equipment testing were completed according to schedule.
Before shipment, every machine was tested to verify stable operation and production performance. Test videos and inspection results were shared with the customer for final confirmation.
Once the customer approved the testing results, the complete production line was carefully loaded into containers and prepared for shipment to DR Congo.
The project was successfully delivered at the end of February 2026.
